This slideshow was the centerpiece for my virtual Open House presentation, Sogn Valley- Painting the Little Cannon Watershed. It takes you on a journey from the Little Cannon River headwaters near Kenyon, through Sogn Valley to Cannon Falls where it joins the Cannon River. The watershed includes surrounding meadows, pastures and woodland valleys with springs, snow melt and creeks that flow into the river. I spent a year exploring this area, creating field sketches and paintings. The following is a glimpse into my process and includes sketchbook excerpts, field studies (unfinished reference paintings), small paintings and large finished works (displayed with frames).
